S1, E3: Sharing information alone does not necessarily lead to learning, change, and growth - on both the individual and organizational levels. Instead, a process of information, reflection, and practice coupled with an environment of encouragement and accountability is necessary for learning, change, and growth to take shape. Leaders help guide this process when they shift from telling to coaching. S1, E2: The logic model of input, output, and outcome offers leaders and organizations a frame to vision and strategize their organization's mission impact. Inputs are the resources an organization has, outputs are the activities an organization puts forth, and outcomes are the changes realized. Mission impact is further realized when leaders shift from measuring outputs to measuring outcomes. S1, E1: We like to check boxes. It is natural to focus on arriving at a destination or crossing though completed items on our to-do list. Yet, the process of "becoming" incredibly forms the end product. The more leaders can highlight this becoming process for individuals and groups, the more meaning is made on the journey towards learning, change, and growth. |
